Working Together for a Safer A34

Today, I had the opportunity to meet with fellow MPs Olly Glover, and Olivia Bailey in Westminster to discuss the ongoing safety issues along the A34. Kit Malthouse is also part of the group of MPs looking to address A34 safety but was unable to join us today.
We've each heard from hundreds of residents who are genuinely worried about the state of the A34. Our recent surveys have shown just how much this affects people's daily lives, and it was powerful to bring those voices into the room today.
Together, we’re committed to making a difference. We’ve secured a site visit with National Highways to see the most problematic spots for ourselves and understand what practical changes can be made. We are also continuing to meet with various Ministers and want to work closely with the government to find the best solutions to make a positive difference and enhance safety.
What I appreciated most about today’s meeting was the shared commitment across party lines. This isn’t about politics; it’s about making the A34 safer for everyone who uses it. Working together like this gives me hope that we can achieve real, lasting improvements.
If you have experiences or thoughts about the A34 that you'd like to share, please do get in touch. Your feedback is essential to shaping the changes we need.
