Paying Tribute to West Berkshire’s Fallen

I was honoured to take part in events to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms.

In Parliament, I had the privilege of laying a cross at the Garden of Remembrance to honour the fallen from West Berkshire. It was a poignant moment to reflect on the courage and sacrifice of those who served our country. As I stood among the rows of crosses, I was reminded of the deep cost of war and the responsibility we all share to strive for peace.

Closer to home, I joined the Remembrance Parade and Service in Thatcham, where the community gathered to pay tribute. The turnout was a powerful testament to the collective gratitude and respect we hold for those who served. Hearing the words, “At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them,” resonated deeply.

Remembrance is not just about honouring those who have fallen; it’s also about supporting our veterans, their families, and those still serving in our armed forces. Their bravery and commitment are an inspiration, and we owe them our unwavering support.

This year, as every year, I stand with the people of West Berkshire in gratitude and remembrance. We will never forget their sacrifice.
